These terms apply to Cadence, a macOS app made by Engcraft (‘we’, ‘us’), when you download it from the Mac App Store or use it. Please read them before using the app. Your use of Cadence is also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

License. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Cadence on Macs you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, extract the source code of, translate or make derivative versions of the app. Cadence, its trademarks and all related intellectual property remain the property of Engcraft. The on-device speech model is NVIDIA’s Parakeet TDT 0.6B v3, used under the CC-BY-4.0 license.

Subscriptions. Cadence includes a limited number of free dictations. Continued use requires Cadence Pro, an auto-renewable subscription (billed yearly or weekly) purchased through Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the same price and period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your Apple Account settings (App Store ▸ Account ▸ Subscriptions). Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Prices are shown in the app and may vary by region. We will always make clear what you are paying for before you buy.

Your data. Cadence works on your Mac and does not send your voice or text to us. What is stored locally, and the few things that do use the network, are described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for keeping your Mac and your Apple Account secure.

Availability and changes. We may update, change or discontinue the app or any of its features at any time. Some features need an internet connection (the one-time model download and subscription checks), and we are not responsible for the app not working fully without one. Cadence requires macOS 15 or later on a Mac with Apple silicon. System requirements may change with updates, and you will need to install updates to keep using the app.

Disclaimer. Cadence is provided ‘as is’. Speech recognition is not perfect and text cleanup can make mistakes, so you are responsible for reviewing what is inserted, especially before sending or publishing it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Engcraft is not liable for any direct or indirect loss arising from your use of the app or reliance on its output.

Termination. We may end your access to the app if you breach these terms. On termination the license granted to you ends and you must stop using and delete the app.
