InferenceDock Privacy Policy

InferenceDock is a macOS app made by Engcraft (‘we’, ‘us’) that downloads open-weight AI models and runs them on your Mac to make images, edit images and turn text into speech. This page explains what information InferenceDock handles, what stays on your Mac, and the little that does not (model downloads). The short version: your prompts, images, audio and voices never leave your Mac. There is no account, no cloud generation and no server of ours involved in making anything. By using InferenceDock you agree to the practices described here. Terms used in this policy have the same meaning as in our Terms of Use.

Information Collection and Use

InferenceDock does not require an account and does not ask you for any personal information. Every model runs entirely on your Mac. The prompts you write, the images and audio you make, the images you import and the voice samples you record are stored only inside InferenceDock’s sandboxed container on your Mac (or in a folder you choose for models). None of this is sent to us or to anyone else.

InferenceDock contains no analytics, advertising or tracking. It does not send usage data to us or to anyone else.

Models and Downloads

Models are not part of the app; you choose which ones to install. They are downloaded from our content delivery network (models.engcraft.io, hosted by Cloudflare) or from Hugging Face, and once a day the app fetches the list of available models from our content delivery network. Like any download, these requests include the standard information a server needs to answer them, such as your IP address; they include nothing about what you make. Each model’s licence is shown before you install it.

Microphone and Voice Cloning

InferenceDock uses the microphone only when you choose to record a voice sample to clone a voice, and macOS shows its recording indicator while it does. Before a voice is saved you must confirm that you have the speaker’s permission; the sample, its transcript and the date of that confirmation are stored on your Mac with the voice. You can delete a cloned voice at any time. If your Mac has no microphone or you decline access, you can still import a recording instead.

Content Filter and Reports

To keep the app within the App Store’s rules, InferenceDock checks image prompts on your Mac for sexual content, content involving minors and graphic violence, and checks every image it makes, including the previews shown while it works, for sexual content. This check runs locally, and nothing about a blocked prompt or image is recorded or sent. If you report a problem, the app prepares an email to us; it includes your prompt only if you choose to include it, and you see the full text before sending.

Security

Everything InferenceDock stores lives inside its sandboxed app container on your Mac, protected by your macOS user account and by FileVault if you use it. Models run in a separate sandboxed helper process that only reads the model files. Because nothing you make is transmitted to our servers, there is no server-side copy of it to protect or to breach.

InferenceDock and this website may contain links to other sites, such as a model’s licence or its page on Hugging Face. Those sites are not operated by us and have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review: Cloudflare (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy) and Hugging Face (huggingface.co/privacy).

Children's Privacy

InferenceDock is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time and will post any changes on this page. This policy is effective as of 2026-10-29.
